Does anyone make an aftermarket tail light that is as bright as the stocker? All I ever see is that APC crap and they are close to being dangerously dim IMO.

Sorry bout the hijack.

I have the stock taillights, but I fabbed in a Truck-Lite model 60 LED lamp in place of the stock bulb on each side. They're brighter than stock, and have the "instant" on/off of LED. Definitely get folks' attention when I touch the brakes. Not to mention, they were cheap ($35 shipped for the pair via Ebay, and $7 for a tube of epoxy, and an hour or so with a dremel tool to cut the housings). I like that they have the LED features, but that the taillight still looks completely stock. Most aftermarket ones look tacky to me.

Nice job there, Ryan.
So you just Dremeled out the back side of your assemblies and glued in a LED light bar?
Sounds simple enough.

A side note: For those of you who want LED without all the work, you can get them to fit in your factory light sockets.

Yep, just used a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut a space for the lamp, and then laid it across the opening, and used epoxy to mount it permamently, and wired it up.

Here are two pics belonging to DualStroked from TDS that show what I mean:

I considered the LED replacement bulbs, but I like the looks these give, and the price was right.
