Hey guys-

Brand new member, with a brand "new to me" PSD. I bought a 2000 7.3L PSD today. I pick it up Monday. Just looking for any information I need to know up front. I can't wait to pull my travel trailer with it. I stepped up from a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L gasser.

I'm looking forward to getting info from this site. Anything I need to know right away?

Thanks!

Rear axle. You need to start planning on beefing up the rear axle suspension to keep truck from wandering around. Will tow the trailer in a much more stable manner.

If it does not have one, get a anti-sway bar. Hellwig is what I used.
Consider air bags to keep truck level when weighed down with trailer.
Radius rods (Landyot) will make a big difference as well.

Thanks!

Not bad at all for a DIYer. I did all 3 myself.

Sway bar <$150.
Air bags (toughest of the 3) <$225
Radius rods <$350

Also, while you are spending money, plan on new Bilstein shocks. I like my Rancho 9000s, but would probably go for Bilsteins based upon reports here in the forum. Shocks would run about $250 and are very easy to install.
