I have an '03 250sd v-10 (new to me, 2 months) and wonder if it starts normal. I turn the key, it fires right up to about 15-1600 rpms for a few seconds, then comes down to around 1100 rpms until warm. Is this typical? Only 8200 miles on the motor and truck. I had a '94 f150 with a 302 which did the same so I'm thinking yes. Any feedback is appreciated. Love this truck.
That sounds perfectly normal to me. I haven't watched the tach that closely on mine, but it sounds about right. And if it isn't exactly right, what can you do about it? Right? Just a thought....
Mine fires up so fast that the torque from the V10 torques the chassis over to the right
Yeh, I was going to ask about that.....
Mine lights up so quickly sometimes that I get the body lean a bit, but I also occasionally get serpentine belt chirp...half a second, but a chirp, nonetheless.
Reminds me of large industrial electric motors when they start up. Poor belts just can't keep up at first.
