need help wiring high idle / switch config
What I have is a 6 switch panel made by Federal Signal. The unit has one main power lead, backlit labels, and indicator lights in the switches.
I know to wire up the high idle is simply putting those two wires on a switch that will essentially connect them.
However this switch panel won't allow that, since it's sending out a power signal. I like the indicator light in each switch so if I take away the power input to just hook up the high idle, I'll lose the indicator light.
could I take a standard relay, wire the power from the switch to the input signal on the relay, THEN, instead of wiring the power IN/OUT on the relay, wire the two wires for high idle to that ? Woudn't that essentially energize the coil, close the circuit and make the high idle connection ???
Working on a high idle circuit as we write that will utilize 3 relays and will automatically disengage when the brake pedal is activated.
Can you guys point me to the directions for the high idle mod? My search isn't working like I want it to.
Just when I think I know computers - they screw with me
