Angry Need Help With 05 PSD Excursion

I am wanting to know if anyone has had the same problems with the tuners as I have. I have installed both the Diablo and the Edge tuner and had problems with both. The main problems I am having is torque convert slipping or vibration when the truck is in 5th gear and does not down shift quick enough. The other problem I am having is going up a hill and if the truck is in 5th gear going up a hill I start to give it more throttle I get a over boost and the turbo is dumping off. I am pissed because no one know what is causing this. I have taken the truck back to the dealership to have the torque convert checked and they said all was good. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. The 6.0 psd is fun but it is much better with a tuner on it.

Call Jody Tipton at DP-Tuner and pick his brain.

I have his F5 chip in my 7.3L and it's nothing short of phenomenal.

I too have created an overboost condition where the truck defuels, but I eliminated that problem with ITP's Overboost Annihilator.

Call Jody and talk to him. I'd bet you'll be happy you did.

Don't mean to offend those that love the edge, but it's has been reported to not play well with tranny's.... so maybe your tranny is permanantly cornfused ??

it does a defuel at shift points instead of reprogramming the tranny control module so the tranny is left to figure out what the heck is going on and guess what to do next

I had a diablo on my 03 Ex and it worked well for 40k+ miles with no ill effects...

the only thing I would put on my truck now is an SCT... good luc...

What do you mean SCT. Is that a program that can be used with the Diablo? Please let me know. Thank you.

SCT is another company like Diablosport.

SCT makes the Xcalibrator, a handheld flash device similar in function to the Predator.

If you prefer handheld tuners, Jody at DP-Tuner can also provide tunes via the SCT handheld.

Seriously, EVERYONE who's ditched the canned tunes, or the Edge products and switched to tunes created by Jody has raved. No canned tune can compare to a custom tune.

Do some searches over in the PSD forums and you'll see how well the F5 chip works.

You can check out their website here: www.dp-tuner.com

But I'm serious, give him a call and talk with him. His customer service is well known. He'll help answer your questions regarding the tranny problem you described, as it relates to tuning. 828-221-0076
