i done got me some new toys for the garage today

i went to harbor freight today and picked up some new toys i have been wanting to get.
first off, there was a 8 ton long ram air over hydraulic jack for the cherry picker. the cheapest i have seen anywhere was $129.99.
hf had it advertised in the flyer for $79.99. when i got to the register, the computer rang it up at $69.99. .sweet!!
then i got something i have wanted for over 10 years.
a 240 volt, 40 amp plasma cutter. sever cut 1/2 inch steel, 40% duty cycle at 40 amps, 100% duty cycle at 29 amps.
normal price, $1,199.99, sale price $999.99
now for the better deal. computer rang it up at $799.99!!
so for $930.88 taxes included, i got the plasma cutter and air piston for less than i was looking to spend for the cutter alone.

i are one happy camper today!!!

Let us know how the plasma cutter works; been eyeballing it awhile.

I guess good things come to those who wait.. Great buy.

HF runs many spot specials and matches Internet pricing and competitors pricing so that may have been what caused the differences in the prices.

Cool Tom.

Though, you knew you could have borrowed my plasma cutter any time you wanted.

I've got to stop by HF this week for a new air compressor. I'm getting the 60 gallon 220 volt. I hope the cash registers are working that day for me like they did for you!!!

well, just an update on the plasma cutter. i used it 3 times. yesterday, i went to use it, and it would only fire for 3 seconds. so back to the store i went. the store manager looked at the box, and said wait here.
not 5 minutes later, he is back, with a new machine.
it seems the kid got me one of the old machines that have been discontinued because they had so many problems with them. the new one is a 40 amp 230 volt, but it has a digital current gauge, built in air regulator instead of bolt on the back of the unit, has a hard wired wand instead of the plug of the other one, and this one strikes an arc without making contact with the work. it also weighs 63 lbs compared to the 29 lbs of the old one. that tells me there is a step up transformer in this one, instead of the solid state inverter in the other one. i just tried it out with a few cuts, and it is a night and day difference.

the part number on this one is 95136, and the number on the pos is 62652

the internet price is $799.99
