DTC CODE & Dealer runaround???
I chimed in on a thread about 2 months ago when I bought my 2003 F-350 on a DTC that came up. The code was P2263 the dealer/tech ( whom at this junction I have no reason to doubt) told me that it was caused by clogged or improperly installed fuel filters. I inspected the filters and they did not look that bad although one was twisted when they showed it to me ( it was the one from the HCFM) Never owning a 6.0 before I took it as the truth.
It has been bugging me for awhile now why? I have been reading the threads on this site and it makes me wonder. I have yet to find a post that said clogged/improperly installed fuel filters would cause DTC P2263. Did they show/give me my filters? Again no reason to doubt.
In Fact the tech stayed late that night to resolve what turned out to be a non-issue with my truck on his own time with me standing there. It was something that he had yet to be encountered by him but it was the way it was supposed to be.
So why am I asking for confirmation?
I guess it just started to bug me and it was an itch that I needed to scratch.
Did the dealer do a sneaky repair to CTA or avoid a warranty issue(Truck seems to drive fine now)? Or is it all on the up and up.
I apologize for the long thread I just wanted to be thorough with the info
I know there are so many possibilities as to what could throw this code but how do I check. Could they have band aided my bullet wound to avoid warranty work ? I really hate to think that at all but I do not want to hit 100,001 and be told so sad that'll be $3000. The truck does seem fine tows hauls etc OK.
I have heard of some guys brining there truck in for a before warranty ends checkup and they usually find some stuff to correct. The dealer is close to my home and convenient to me but if he is blowin' it up myA#$ then I will go elsewhere.
Thanks vloney for the info/opinion anybody else have thoughts
As for me standing there Fordtech it had to do with the reflash and the injector run after shutdown noise ( sorry if I misled there) . I have yet to have a similar problem but I DRIVE the truck meaning I try to make sure on each trip I get the turbo to spool up so the VGT is put to work, not going WOT just a littl more zip on the highways. Not sure if it helps its just the voodo that I do. My MPG is a religous 15.5 MPG with my current driving habits in combined driving.
I guess from reading here, my concerns are not totally unwarranted.
