Which Optima ... 2004 XLT S-Cab 5.4 4X4?
Hi,
I searched and I did not find my answer. I want to put either a red top or yellow top Optima in my truck.
Which model do I need?
Will it bolt right in or do I have to modify the bracket?
Anyone have any pictures?

Hi and Welcome to FTE!!
You'll probably need a 75 or 78 series Optima w/ a height adj. bracket. If your not running 12v. items w/ the truck off for long periods... the Red top should be more than sufficient.

The yellow top is a deep cycle battery, made to be drained completely and then fully charged again.
The red top is a starting battery, meaning its made to be used in ANY vehicle that uses an alternator to constantly keep it charged.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a red top optima as a primary battery for any vehicle application. It will come with brackets that will allow it to be used with the factory hold down bracket.
