The Superchips DTC book says p0487 = EGR throttle pos ctrl circ,Whatever that means.Hope this helps.

Possible causes:
EGRTP actuator circuits
EGRTP actuator
PCM
Key off.
Disconnect the charge air cooler tube from the throttle body.
Key on, engine off.
The PCM will activate the EGRTP actuator and perform a full sweep of the throttle plate for each key cycle with the IAT temperature greater than 0°C (32°F).
Observe the throttle plate for movement, it may be stuck and the PCM doesn't register a voltage change.

same p0487 code
I have same code p0487 on my 05 6.0 deisel.I also have the Bully Dog triple dog.Has anyone figured out what this means or how to get rid of it yet.Please help as ford does not even know what it is.My diesel shop also does not know what it means.

I have returned my truck to stock.And as you say no more code's.Thanks for the help.
Do you know if all programers do this.Or is it related to only Bully Dog.I well be calling Bully Dog as i have been driving this truck for 1 year like this.
