I had to pull it.......

Quick story,A buddy of mine needed a roughly 5000lb trailer moved a whopping 15 miles down the road. With me having the only REAL truck to move it I agreed.I was a little concerned with my low mileage on my truck moving the trailer. My truck has 1,455 miles on it.I've read posts with guys pulling at 4,5,600 miles on their trucks and have had no problems,I'm just not as crazy as you guys!LOL!

With all that said I know the manual says don't tow for 500 miles and I'm aware I'm past that.I've read in the tech folder on "breaking in a diesel" and I did all that pretty well through 1000 miles.I also read were to put a "moderate load" on the truck around 1000 miles to help seat the rings.

My questions are:1)Was that ok to tow that soon?
2)Was that enough weight(5000lbs)to help seat the rings?

I know it was a WHOPPING 15 MILES but that was as far as I needed to go.

Sorry for the long post but it always eases my mind asking you guys what you think. Thanks ahead of time for any insite!

thats not enough weight to work the truck anyways.. you should be fine.. i would rather break it in for more like 5-10K on a newer diesel, thats when the better fuel mileage comes in..

I think you would have been alright if you would have waited until you had 1500 miles on it, as it is your screwed, you better sell it while you can before it starts falling apart I would be willing to take it off your hands for cheap just to help you out.
