I'm looking at a 99 f-250 with the 7.3 and i need some help with a few questions about it. Can you sleeve the cyclinder and is it worth the time to do it? If it can't be sleeved can it be bored?
If your question is really, "Is the 7.3 a wet-liner engine?", the answer is no. This means you aren't going to be able to disassemble the engine and just pop a new liner into it like you can to some diesels.
However, the engine is no different than any standard cast-iron gasoline block in that respect, and a good machine shop should be able to install a normal sleeve, ASSUMING THEY ARE AVAILABLE. Your best bet is to call your BEST local automotive machine shop and ask them if they can get sleeves for the 7.3. The bore is 4.11 inches, stroke is 4.18", for their reference.
Got cavitation damage? If one cylinder has pinholes, most likely they're ALL getting thin. That could get pricy to fix in this manner, and another (sound) block might begin to look good.
