i drive a '95 f350 w/ a 460ci., it has over 200k miles and it is beginning to give me problems that the local ford service crew can't fix/figure out...i think they are just lazy...what's going on is that i have trouble starting up the truck, well according to them my fuel pressure is good, battery is good and sparks are brand new, they replaced the coil...worked great for a week, then it went back to not starting...they replaced the pcm, worked great for a month, now back at the original problem PLUS the truck will just quit on me while driving, after pumping the gas while i coast it starts back up and i continue on...one fuel filter has been replaced, one fuel injector has been replaced...it was at ford for a total of 21 days, cost just over $1000, and it's no where better...is there a customer complaint thing i can do???? do you have any suggestions for me?
thanks!!
Definitely a fuel delivery problem. Fuel Pump? Check the voltage. If you have a returnless fuel injection its a little more complicated. I also wouldn't take their word for the fuel pressure reading. Maybe your shraeder valve isn't working right. (Once again if you have returnless, which I doubt). Other than that does it run better when you are giving it gas/ under a load? Maybe you need to check the IAC (Idle Air Control) which is attached to the throttle body. Good Luck!
