High idle when slowing down
96 4.9 man trans. when starting vehicle it idles real high. when driving and coming to stop the engine continues to keep high RPM until it comes to complete stop then it will idle down. Just bought the truck and it sat for a long time. I changed oil, wires, plugs. whats next?

Perhaps do a search on this board for TPS or IAC (Thottle Position Sensor or IAC Idle Air Control Valve). This may be the root of the idle problem. Few of these threads have talked about same type of problems. Also, it may be time to check for codes. Is the engine light coming on?? This may help isolate the problem.
