I put another brand of "shift improver" in a 76 C6 and was disappointed. The shifts were a little firmer, but definately nothing you could really feel like I was hoping. A local tranny shop talked me into this and said they put this in most stock transmissions they rebuild. I'm guessing the B&M shift improver is very similar.
When I rebuilt the C6 in my 78 F-150 I went with the B&M Transpak and am much happier with it as it has very firm shifts you can feel.
i have one if you want it. its for e40d trans, make sure you get the right one its a switch you wire into the pcm or trans harness it boost the line pressure on epc it works but if you have something wrong with your tranny it will make it worse
I had a shop rebuild my C-6, I bought all the stock Ford parts, new pump, new torque converter, every part that could be replaced I replaced with new. They used a TransGo shift kit in mine and it is perfect. It shifts nice and firm feels great. The B&M kits shift very hard, sounds like your dash is being punched.
Hey, I bought the B&M shift improver fo my 1996 F150. I am very happy with it. There are two settings, one for street and light towing, and the other for heavy towing.(3 including stock) I use the first setting all the time. It has a real good firm shift and holds the shift points a little longer. And for the price, I think its a good investment. And if you are not happy with it, you can just set it back to stock.
I got mine from summit, about forty bucs, great value for something that will help tranny life. Are you wanting it for street performance or will you be towing?
