Wts light and starting
My first question, anyone else with a dp tuner chip, has the chip changed the time the wts light stays on. My wts light doesn't come close to staying on as long as it did w/out the chip. Doesn't seem to matter what setting i am in, stock or tow. It seems to stay on according to the temp of the engine. Cold 10-15sec warm or hot a blink to 1 sec. Just wondering if this is normal.
Second question. I've read hear that the glow plugs stay on for up to 2 mins and to wait a little longer after the wts light goes out to start the truck when it's really cold. So this moring it was in the upper teens and my wts light went out fairly quick, so i let it sit for 10 secs longer b4 firing it up. It just cranked for 2-3 secs and no start. Turned ignition off, turned ignition back on, wts lights went off quickly and i turned the key and it fired right up.
Do you think it was a fluke, not starting . It has started right up at 8 degrees w/out being pluged in, on the first try, and right after wts light went out.
Any ideas why no start if i wait longer than wts light
thanks
Now on to your next question. I know on my rig I can wait the full two minutes and it will still start. However, if I wait any longer than that it won't fire. On our 96, you always have to wait for WTS to go on and off in order for it to start. Summer or winter. Maybe each GP system is a little different as far as the times?
Since It sounds like you've tuned up the the GP system I would assume that everything is up to par. Maybe check your resistance on the relays?
