Tranny Fluid question

Tranny Fluid question
Can anyone tell me which type of tranny fluid my truck uses? Its a 66 F-250 4speed with granny low. The owners manual is not 100% clear on which type it is. It just lists lists above 10F Engine Oil SAE 50 and below 10F Engine Oil SAE 30. DOes this tranny use engine oil and not transmissino fluid? THe 3 speed and automatic appear to use Transmission fluid. I'm royally confused since I've never heard of a transmission using engine oil. Its shifting kinda rough so I thought its probably low on fluid since it sees alot of highway miles (daily driver) and runs high RPM's because of the gearing.

Manual transmission can use engine oil being its thicker. Like instead of using 80 - 90 (example) year round or whatever, in the winters you can use automatic transmission fluid since its only 10 weight or so. The manual transmission is able to use both that is listed. summers n warm weather use thicker oil, winter use thinner. With the thinner oils you might notice some leaking though from being thinner.

Thanks for the info. Also finally found some info on the net. Guess I know what I'm doing on my day off tomorrow.
