First off I would like to thank Racerguy for the wonderful(full of pictures for us SLOW people) article on changing ball joints.
Now to the problem. I also did a front brake job and now it rattles. I have searched and realized that it must be the "anti rattle clips" I did not see those when changing out the pads, and I am unable to locate them from Autozone or Oreilly's. It rattles when driving down the road, but when brake pressure is applied it goes away. It has to be those clips. Does someone have a picture of what they look like and where they go, or can describe to me what I should look for?
I still have the pile of used parts, so If I knew what they looked like I could see if I can find them. Thanks in advance
yup, exactly. They are metal clips that go on the brake caliper mounts. 2 for each side, 1 top 1 bottom. They are not the same top and bottom so you have to pay attention. Put some grease on them to keep the slides lubed up. It makes your brakes last longer in the long run.
