Bought mine from ProsPick and I'm really satisfied with it. It is a quality made box but relatively expensive. I got the box, bed boards, wow strips, tailgate, crossmembers, special latch system and all the mounting hardware for about $2500. It also comes painted with a sealer so it won't rust before you can get it installed and can be bolted together with no welding. They even threw in a set of bed roll lights for free and if you order one at a show where they have their vendor booth set up you can get free shipping (except for a $75 crating charge). What I liked was being able to get everything from one place...

Thumbs up 48 pickup bed

Tomoto,
If you can make it to the F100 Supernationals in Knoxville, there are many vendors there. I remember a couple had complete beds set up with the bed wood included. Some were show specials and you save the shipping charge also.
Thats what I plan on doing.
It's in May only a couple months away.
Good luck,
Jeff

TOMOTO,

I think I'm going with Northern Classic Trucks. They have a complete 48-50 bed for $1750. It looks like it includes everything. Even the wood and the tailgate chains. I've never heard anything bad about them.

Phil Dean over here does an awesome stepside bed for the early F-1, including the curved stake pockets and all the feature lines .......refer to the thread about my F-1 for pics.

Doesn't have the Ford script in the tailgate for licensing reasons.

It probably seems stupid me telling you this, except that they are only A$900.......which is under $800 US.

Not sure what freight would be, but shoved up against the wall of a container with something stacked inside it would take up no space. Should therefore be cheapish, but would take 8-10 weeks.

They are WAY better than any US repro bed I have seen.

.......hmmmmm.......did I just think up a new business idea.....naaagh, WAY to busy already

I went with MAR-K then built my own floor from plywood and hardwood strips. I haul canoes, rock, sand, you name it, so went strong and cheap to replace. MAR-K had great sheetmetal, very straight, complete and easy, though you need a welder and/or skill to put it together. www.mar-k.com
