i changed the TPS 2day and had to remove the trottle body the TPS is now fine ( it idles like a new car ( even better).. but when i removed the trottle body i found inside the intake manifold a layer of oil buildup or carbon buildup is this normal ? or i was thinking the PCV valve is the problem.. am i right?? or is this normal becuase its 17 years old ...
ok when when i have nothing to do i will remove the whole thing and try to clean it... any tips?? like a liquid to use? or just blow it with a pressure water gun?
i pull the throttle body and clean it on a rag covered bench with either throttle body cleaner, or carb cleaner and a toothbrush to get the built up crud out. . make sure you spray the air passages also. when clean, blow out real good with compressed air. wipe the intake out as good as you can.
make sure you replace the gaskets before install. i also clean out the iac when i do the throttle body. i consider throttle body cleaning a part of a regular tuneup.
