ok i know when i first start my 400 up when its cold it will take off real good but after it warms up it seems a little on the sluggesh side. i got a 86 f250 4x4 c6 with a 400 650 eld 4bbl carb. i was wondering if i put a spacer on this carb if that will help with a better take off other then sluggesh at most times

I would look into ignition timing, and the vacuum advance first. The vacuum advance should be hooked to the left front port on the carb. Sounds like it could be running too lean after the choke opens.
