pitman arm
The pitman arm is the funny shaped joint that connects the power steering box to the steering linkage. If you look directly under the front of the truck you should be able to see it right behind the stabilizer bar. Also the other question you asked about the whinning in the rear is almost definatley the fuel pump. One way to tell for sure is to turn the key to run without starting the vehicle. You sould be able to hear that same noise.....
