Will it open from the outside and not the inside or not open period? If it will open from the outside, it is likely the child proof lock **** in the jam was moved.

Sounds like the rear child lock is on. Check your manual on how to disengage. It should be on the rear of the door. (for 06 it is)

I had an answer for you if it was just a problem opening it from the inside (which I'll post below). But, not opening from the outside is a different problem altogether.

The problem of opening a rear door (esp the right side) from the inside is a known problem (2004 only?) and has been assigned a Technical Service Bulletin.

TSB 03-20-4 or 03204: BODY - INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE REPAIR - REAR DOORS ON CREW CAB AND FRONT DOORS ON REGULAR AND SUPER CAB (STX / XL)

Publication Date: September 26, 2003
FORD: 2004 F-150

ISSUE: Some 2004 F-150 vehicles may exhibit an "unable to open the door with the inside door handle" condition, although the exterior handle works properly. This may be due to the door latch cable becoming detached from the interior door handle bezel.

ACTION: To service, reattach the door latch cable to the interior door latch handle bezel. Install a Spring Clip (4L3Z- 1521952-AA) to retain the cable. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

So, head on over to your dealership and have them fix it ... provided you're still under warranty. If out of warranty, you may have to pay for the fix.
