Ford explorer door problems
I am a first time person to this site and have allot to learn about my ford explorer 98 4wd. This seems like a user friendly sort of site so I thought I would give it try.
I bought my truck used over a year ago and it is the best car I have ever owned ok I have only had 6 cars my whole life (I am 45) but still it is the best car I have ever owned. The only trouble I am having with my car is my left passenger window keeps getting stuck and now my drivers side door is giving me problems. I am having Mocks (the place where I bought the car) fix the window but my boyfriend and I thought we could fix the door. He used to be key repair guy and has opened many cars when someone locked thier car with the key inside.
We have taken the car apart and saw that the latch is broken and so now we need a new latch and inside and outside car handle. Any suggestions that we should know in advance before continuing? When we get it fixed should I only go to the manufacture to align the door or can we go to any body shop? Thank you in advance for any thoughts you care to share.
