ABS Sensor

I am replacing ball joints on my 4wd truck and to get them out you have to remove the whole entire steering knuckle, to press the joints out im going to have to stick it in a vise, but i cant because there is a cable that goes to the ABS sensor, is there a certain way to get that sensor out of my way or do i have to deal with it?

Red face

On what? What year, two wheel drive, four wheel drive, pick-up/van?
Sorry to sound bad. But not sure what you're working on.

I've never seen a ranger that you had to remove the hub/bearing assembly.. but you do need to unplug the wire for the ABS sensor to remove the knuckle assembly.

If you follow the wire up behind the plastic cover up on the frame you'll find the connector up near the front of the vehicle. Just unplug it, and pop the plastic guides out of the frame... remove the wire with the knuckle.

There is no plug down at the hub/bearing assembly. Even a new bearing assembly comes with the wire attached.

Good luck
