well boys, the wait is over. I just saw a full load of 08's getting delivered to Haidlen Ford. I think im going to check them out a little later tonight. Thanks for the posts guys. Will write back if they are 6.4's or not ( I spotted them on the fly couldnt see if the gills were red or not)
i talked to the trucker that was unloading a 450, he was tellin me how he'd had 2 loads of 450's at that point and was over weight both times, heavy heavy trucks
They didn't have one, they had 8. 3 Lariat's and 5 King Ranches. They were very cool.
I got to start up one. Very quite. Definitely a diesel. It was quite like a gaser, but with the diesel sound. If we were talking about a race car (like back in the 70's not to show my age) I would compare it to a sleeper. Quite with that distinctive diesel rumble sound. They even wanted me to take it for a test drive, I played hard to get. Actually I told them I would wait until next week when they recieve there shipment of 450's. Then I'll go for a ride, o'boy will I. I got a couple of pics of the King Ranch. Sweeeet... But what's up with the cheap looking plastic running boards.
I will go back in the morning when there is more light to get pics of all 8 trucks. They will have them all out front. Can't wait...
Well, Thier in the Sacramento area. I just test drove a F450 at the Roseville dealership. It had lots of power. Turned very tight. The only issue I my have with it was that driving at 65-70 down the freeway, taching out at 2500 rpm's, it seamed like it needed to shift to another gear. Might have something to do with the 4:88's it had. Before we left for the test drive the trip mpg was reading 7, when we got back it was reading 8. I hope it keeps getting better mpg the more you drive it. This truck just came in today and it already had 46 miles on it. When I came back with it there was already someone else ready to jump into the drivers seat. I think this is going to be a very popular truck..
I'm working at the ag show here in tulare county, they have the f-550 lariat dually, its not very attractive in the front end dept., interior looks great, and the step ladder deal on the tailgate is cool!
