I hope everybody else is making more progress than I am. It's raining again today. Cold and wet tomorrow. I've got to build a shop if I'm ever going to finish my truck.
I've got a box full of brake parts(new MC, new residual pressure valves, new lines , new hoses, new calipers, new rotors, new drums, and new shoes) that are begging to be installed, but who wants to work in the rain or lay on the cold and wet ground.
This is so depressing.
Same storm I imagine I'm over here North of Memphis.I was going to pull my seats to get ready to fix my floors.I think I have to get underneath to do it,I'm going to check anyhow.
Better days are coming we'll be yelling about how hot it is in a couple months.
LOL I think I can help. Where would you like to have the ice and snow shipped?
I tried to measure a transmission for Albuq the other day, but had to break thru icicles and after watching the water dripping I finally said nuts! It'll wait.
Here it was like -25 over nite without warming up that much today. The only way to work on anything is to plug it in and to bring it inside a heated shop. We have a fair amount of snow and ice laying around here.
Only about 3 more months till spring arrives, can hardly wait.
I have a tent that I have to work under. Been down to 30 degrees way too cold to work in. On top of that the weather has badly damaged a few palms and killed a number of stems on my cycads. Warmed up a little today but got rain.
Another brutal Houston winter this year. It almost got down to freezing one morning this past week and only got to a high of 55* or so. It got so cold down here, folks were actually wearing jackets!!!
BTW - what is this ice and snow you northern folk often speak of???

You're breaking my heart! That's ok tho, this summer when the heat peaks I'll think of you when I pull on a sweatshirt at first light about 4:30am. The shirt will come off about 9am and back on about 9pm for the last two hours of daylight. Those long summer days with temps topping out about 75-85 are what I survive winter for.
I spent the first 40 years of my life in Ohio/Indiana's summer heat and humidity. I'll take the ice and snow!
I love the motto! I lived in N.O.,LA twice, staitioned there with the USCG in the early 80's and again in 96-97, always on the south side of I-10. I currently live about 50 miles north of I-20 in Athens, GA. I replaced the wood and metal bed strips this weekend out in the drive way (no garage) and it wasn't too bad, but the weather has taken a turn for the frostbitten this afternoon. No more work on the truck until spring, I fear.

Ditto! I spent the first 50 years of my life in Florida's heat and humidity...never again! I'll put up with the cold here to get those great summers! If you haven't spent an Independence Day cookout in 70 degree weather you haven't lived...
Too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too much snow. That's why me and my other half plan to do some extensive RV travel in a few years, if you don't like the weather or the neighbors, pack up and move. We plan to "snowbird" for a few years(north in the summer, south in the winter) before settling down somewhere in between, with the best of both.
