Some quick questions...

First off i own a 1990 F250 its has the 302 with a manual 4 speed with overdrive trans. Also this is the first american truck/car i owned. But now for the questions what should i use in my trans and transfercase. Also what weight gear oil should i use in the rear? Thanks for all the help in advance.

typically you'd use either a 80w or 90w gear oil in the transmission and rear. if you still have the owners manual it will say what type of oil to use. use the synthetic oil if you can get it, costs more, but it will go a lot farther before needing to be changed. fix any leaks you might have before going synthetic, don't want it leaking out after paying more money. transfer case should run standard dextron/mercon automatic transmission fluid.

My 91 ZF 5 OD requires ATF ... he better check his manual.

my 95 with m50d had gear oil, it's hard to tell on some of these trucks, i agree i would find a manual and see what it says before doing anything, i would pull the drain plug and see what comes out, if its supposed to be atf and previous owner ran gear oil you're going to have to flush all the oil out.
