I have a 97 f150 and one of the lights behind the speedo is out. If anyone has instructions on how to change these lights or can point me in the right direction to finding the instructions I would appreciate it.
I don' know of any instructions, but it should be simple. Pick up a haynes manual.
However, remove the trim around the cluster. It should just be snapped into place, but look just above the cluster for screws and look carefully to see if the bezel surrounds the radio. Once you get bezel off, there should only be 4 8mm bolts holding the cluster in. Pop those out and wiggle the cluster. If you have an automatic, the gear selector has two little clips that hold it on the bottom of the cluster. There are one/two plugs in the back and once they come out the cluster will be free. Turn it over, use a set of needle nose plyers to twist the base out and replace the lamp.
That wasn't my truck in the pictures, but I have seen them in the size you need at some auto parts stores. I believe there are also LED's that will work online.
