Tires

I'm down to my wear bars, and my slowly leaking right rear blew out on me this morning (after I spun on the ice, and that tire hit the curb pretty hard ) So anyways, its time for new tires all around!

My neighbor is store manager at a local Belle Tire, and promised the best price.

1. What tires should I get? '03, CC, V10, short bed. 99% of my driving is on paved roads. The other 1% is decent dirt roads in campgrounds or maybe once a year driving through some deep snow. Basically, I need a street tire, but I don't want to not be able to get through a muddy field on the off chance that I slide off the road or something.

2. Whats a fair price? In my 15 years of legally driving, I don't think I ever bought new tires for a car or truck. Just my motorcycles!

I'll be going in after work on Tuesday.

Thanks!
Kevin

There's a ton of threads on this, but hold on to your wallet... I've been reasearching this for mine and I'm seeing $200 plus for a 35x12.5/18. 17s aren't much better from what I've seen.

I should probably say that I'm planning on keeping the stock size, whatever that is.

Kevin

IMHO...these tires should be high on your list (in NO particular order).

Tire size: LT265/75R16...at least that is what I have on my '03 SD.

1. Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO (highly rated...and excellent wear, but need deep pockets$$$)
2. Bridgestone Dueler H/T

3. Pirelli Scorpion ATR
4. Pirelli Scorpion STR (This is what I own. LOVE the tires)

Check pricing here at these links: Should give you some idea...

Hope this helps...

The Goodyear SilentArmor A/T gets real high marks on the tirerack.com site. It's ranked #2 behind the Scorpion ATR.

It does come in 265/75R16 E load range.

i run the toyo open country at's, i like them! got about 7000 miles on them, no noticable wear so far. really quiet, good traction, fair price. i have had my 2500 lb camper on and my jeep on my car hauler behind me. this is way over the weight ratings, and i dont reccomend it! but i pulled it very well. personally id go to a 285/75/16 cause they look better, but thats just me! good luck

I put Bridgestone Rugged Trail T/A tires on my truck (04 F250 CC 4X4) LT 265/75R16 load range E and have been very happy with them. They do excellent in the snow and are quiet on pavement. I haven't had them long enough to say what the tread wear will be, but in all other respects I can recommend them with confidence. Also, the price on these are well within most peoples budget.

Mastercraft Courser C/T. They wear like cast iron and are very good in mud and on wet, flooded pavement. I have 10k on mine so far an they will go at least 30k easy. They are the only thing that holds up down here on "white rock" oil field roads. These roads cut the stock BF/Gs up very quickly.

I ended up with Toyo Open Country TYR (or is it TRY?) at wholesale cost. My neighbor hooked me up!

First impression is that the tires are quieter than what I had (OEMs) and that there is definately more traction than my clapped out, wear bar showing tires!

Thanks for the input, guys!
