Just wondering if this is a good deal? Just bought my first "X". It's a 2000 LTD fully loaded except the dvd player. Only has 58000 miles on it no dents no scratches and mint cont interior. I got it though a friend who's business buys cars for ceo's and vp's then when their done or need a change they offer them to employees. anyway KBB rates it around 17000 I only paid 8540. Looking to do some upgrades and improvements on it I already changed the rear oil(due to a leak) and changed the motor oil. Any suggestions. This is not my daily driver(yet) It was bought to haul my camper and winter driving
Sounds good to me . Last July I paid $9200 for my 01 , 4x4 , V10 , 120,000 mi in spotless cond. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I watch the closing prices on E-Bay & in my opinion you "got a very good deal " .
I just paid $8,001 for a 2000 Limited 4x4 with 137k miles on it. Mine is in mint condition also (how do people do that after so many miles?) from every angle. Bought it off ebay and while driving home blew out a spark plug. $400 fixed that just fine. I also repaired the door lock actuators and will go after some squeaky body mounts tomorrow. After that, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the truck. I feel like I got a great deal. You didn't mention if yours is a 4x4 or not. I had to have a 4x4 because I live in the mountains of Utah. The 2wd models sell alot cheaper than the 4x4s.

Booga-D, don't worry about it when we all started on this forum we were all newbs. I just learned how to use my gallery and signature a week and a half ago.
Quote "stupid me didnt read the bottom of your post until i was done Newbie where is the pic gallery?" Are you looking to make a gallery or look at my gallery?
If you want to look at my gallery click on my name thats right next to my Avatar (little pic of the front end of the ex) and then scroll down to the 2nd one that says view gallery and click it.
If your looking to create a users gallery or a signature or both, you cant create one until you reach a certain amount of posts (I think its somthin like 25 posts?).
Once you reach that certain number of posts and want to make a gallery scroll down Ford Truck Enthusiasts Site Operations and click the thread named User Feedback and Suggestions.(Its under the General topic section with the threads such as gneral automotive or Ford v.s the competition). If that doesnt work just ask in the Excursion thread someone should be willing to help.
I eat hybrids, I had a 2001 f150 lariat super crew 113000 miles fully loaded 4x4 w/ 5.4 L Black and tan. Thanks for all your help, looking forward to posting my pics. I got info on the vibration, I called a local tranny shop to get my fluid and filter changed. They said they think it's the clutchs for the limited slip, Ford now makes a upgrade package for this problem. Should go in next week.
when you say you changed the oil and added the additive i assume you meant in the rear diff. if this is the case it make take several hundred miles for the additive to work its way into your clutch paks--if this doesn't occur, take it to a good rear guy and have him check it out, you may only need the clutch pak and not a $$$ rear overhaul---good luck
