Fuel Help
I was working on the heater core replacement. Previous owner of the truck 1986 F 250 with 351W 4BBL. Had the fuel tank switch selector wedged on FRONT with a piece of paper. I bumped the switch, heard the valve click, then switched it back.
I went to start the truck last nite, ran for like 2 minutes then ran out of fuel, I looked at the gauge and it said "E" I tried rocking the switch with no sucess. Like the valve froze up or defualted to the rear tank, which there is none.. Is there a way to jump the wires on the back of the connector to switch the valve?
In the event the valve went, what do i need to do in order to make it run on just the front tank, I can do the line switch, but what about the gauge? I looked in my books and couldnt find a wiring diagram for this.
Thanks for the help. I just wanna plow snow again.
The diagram I am looking at has a yellow/white, red, darkblue/yellow, yellow/lightblue, and a brown/white going to the switch.
I had the same problem on my truck, and after switching the lines and bypassing the fuel valve on the frame, I took the yellow/white(this is the wire that goes to the dash gauge) cut it and tied it to the darkblue/yellow(this wire goes to the front tank sending unit).
