g/p dilemma

been driving 86 f250 6.9 c6 for 15 yrs when first purchased it developed gp prob would not heat long enough.changed temp sensor, g/ps,and relay to no avail.so got a set of "gm slow glow" [12v olds] put constant duty relay and push button switch under dash under dash and counted for 1 minute. now that ive lost 1 or 2 gps [dosent hit on all 8 on start up] .my question is what sort of aftermarket system is available that i can go back to quick glow [6v] plugs that dosent require coolant sensors ect ? many thanks butch

kg4yub,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

I have Motorcraft/Beru ZD9 glow plugs in my 6.9.
Push the button for 10 seconds and start the engine.

Not sure if Dave is running a straight power system to the GPs, better double check with him.

I am running a manual control system with push button, just like described in the original post.

The only thing different is 10 seconds on the button to start it instead of one minute.
