Intresting 72 4x4

Our local fire department is selling off a 72 F-250 4x4
14,500 origional miles
360 4spd.
Always kept indoors.
Theres some holes in the roof and a few other places from lights and other stuff like that.
Its white which was the origional colour.
They are asking for bids on it?
Any ideas?

I would look the truck fiirst for rust in the front cab mounts and general condition. Usually these trucks are really good shape and worth the money.

OH MAN! You must get that, dont let some hack get it. It probably recieved regular maint. weather it needed it or not. And if it was originally purchased as a brush/fire truck from Ford it may have an early Dana 60 front end not really desireable with 16 spline shafts but unique anyhow. Good luck!

Is that rust on the lower part of the fender?

I've seen ex fire bumps around here go for $10K+ but they were pristine.

You need to buy that, it's sweet. The motor & trans are great and will run forever, and it has a divorced transfer case. The front axle will suck and it has all drum brakes which must be in perfect shape to stop the truck halfway decent, but if you're not going to four wheel it every weekend it would make a good driver.

If you are going to four wheel it, swap in a later disc brake front end & drive the crap out of it. Either way, don't let it slip away.

Ive shipped some big stuff , trailer , tractor and a few other things.
I used A+A Customs brokers.
What I paiid them was well worth it.
They have a website with phone numbers for information.
Nice people to deal with Id ask them if you are really intrested.
Or buy it and leave it with me and come get it and drive it home.
