2 small problems I'm trying to figure out. 1) both of my doors are rattling no matter how hard I shut them. How can I take care of this? 2) I noticed my brake pedal was real soft when I pushed on it this morning. Where do I start to try and take care of this problem?
1) striker bolt bushings...you'll need a torx head screwdriver to take the bolts out. the bushings should be available in the "Help" aisle of your local parts shop
2) check the brake master cylinder fluid level, check vacuum line to brake booster
The striker posts on the doors are adjustable by loosening them and moving them in toward the interior of the cab. Some have a plastic tube around the post that may have deteriorated. If so, new ones are available at most parts stores. It may also be that the rubber seals around the door opening have deteriorated over the years.
As for the brakes, check first to see that there is enough brake fluid in the master cylinder. If the level is low you may have gotten some air in the system which will require bleeding. Then check your lines, wheel cylinders, etc. for any signs of fluid leaks. If your brake pedal goes slowly to the floor when holding pressure on it and no leaks are visible you probably have a bad master cylinder that is allowing fluid to leak by. Good luck.

If no signs of leakage check along frame between tank and frame . If none Pull back tires and drum bet wheel seal is going bad (leaking) Just did it on parts my truck.I've only replaced 1 master on 15 + fords I've owned and 650000 miles .
