I am having some major hesitation in my 99 Ranger XLT 4.0L. I have just replaced the fuel filter and am moving on to the next possible issue. At first the hesitation (surge) was at a steady speed of 55- 60 mph. Now it seems to be acting up at lower speeds 40-45 mph and the biggest problem I noticed is starting off from a stop, it seems the engine is chokeing. Not getting enough air or gas or something. When I start out, stepping on the accelerator it is sometimes sluggish as if it has no power. After 25-45 seconds, the engine will kick in and everythings fine. Any suggestions?
