BEST "SKATEBOARD" (creeper) thread...

I have three.

One is just a plain old wooden board with metal wheels suitable for loaning to the kid in the shop who has cash to buy a new jeep but not to get and pack a decent toolbox....

One is a team mechanix six roller with a tilt up headrest that has kept my neck from feeling broke about a thousand times already.

And then there is the one I nabbed off of the Cornwell Tools truck tonight.
FIVE inch tall casters, guaranteed to work in a gravel driveway, certified to hold 400 pounds, low-boy frame construction, and no annoying rails in my way to catch keys and stuff on!

THIS toy is the bomb! It's called a "King Crawler"

NOTE: Since my boss weighs in at about three hundred, I bet he uses it for me as long as it's at work.... I don't mind, he can't possibly break it! I do wish it had a coffee cup holder tho...

thats pretty nice, do they maek one with an adjustable headrest though? my grandpa and i got creepers with the same padding and frame (four whells, low slung castors, work pretty well even in gravel, real nice thick padding) but his has the adjustable headrest, makes welding underneath something SO very nice. cept he says its going to light on fire if i do that, so now when im over there, isee his beautiful creeper hanging on the wall and he crawls around on the concrete, tsk tsk,

if ya dont mind me asking Mr. Wolf, how much did this run you?

It'll be twenty bucks a week for seven weeks. BEER CHANGE!

The new version has a brake to keep it from rolling when you apply force to something. I think an adjustable headrest is also on it.

I just wanted something I could grab a tranny and slide under with.

(Suckers are heavy!)

- Not to mention the damn gravel driveway problem at home...

I figure if the wheels get ate up, the same kind as on the front of shopping carts could be an upgrade in the future. And NO! I won't steal a cart to do it.

(?)

If it gets to what you have to get to - you've got what you gotta have!

Got news for Ya - the King Crawler is a specialty unit. Not even Cornwell is associated with it.

After looking at it - I might just weld up a trick one of my very own.

My old wooden one finally broke after 20 years. I bought a new whiz bang 6 wheel model. Used it once and ran over it with the car... I managed to get the rails mostly straight again but it will never be right again. The brakes are good. The big wheel models move so easy you can't get any leverage on stuff underneath the vehicle.

Here is a version a little similar to Wolf's:

This $19 cheapo one is similar to mine:

I kind of like this one:

Only 4 wheels but the options make up for it.

Oh, no, no no. I never use them.

I got one of those outdated hairstyles, from being to cheap to go to the barber. (it's pretty long). It only took one instance of sorting my hair out of one of those little casters to cure me.

I just use carpet or cardboard now. It's cheaper anyway.

I once executed the same maneuver in about 1977. But I chose the alternate route and STILL cheated the barber.

It's amazing what you can do with a big enough pair of dikes...

keep the hair short and it does not get tangled up in wheels or machinery, fly into your eyes, or give the linebacker something to hold on to and drag you down.

Yeah, but once you cut it short you have to brush it several times a day, You have to worry about it standing up (I find white guys with afroes hillarious).
I never could get used to wearing a hat.

I'm more inclined to to just wash it every day or so, tie it up and forget about it. You get used to it after a couple of decades. I'd probably feel naked if I cut it.

I'm never goin to win a fashion contest anyway.

No no no, you're getting it all wrong. You just need to shave it every 3-4 weeks, make it short enough that you couldn't style it if you wanted to.

I don't know how you guys stand having long hair, I hate even having enough that I can run my fingers through it. Rule of thumb-if I ever wake up with bedhead, it's time for a haircut.

Still work to shave it that often, and I live in corn country. No shade trees to protect the old noggin. I can feel the skin peeling now.

Besides if you cut it that short, where do you expect the ticks to live.

Someday us long haired freeky people are going to take over the world, just as soon as I convince the rest of them to put down thier bongs.
