pcv valve information sought.

Does anyone know how much draw a pcv valve should have on a 64 f100 with a 223 engine? Mine at idle has 19 inches of manifold vacuum. but if I plug the pcv valve it goes to 21 inches. Losing 2 inches seems like a lot to me at idle does anyone know if this is normal?

I don't think that sounds bad at all. You must be close to sea level. In New Mexico (a mile high) I have seen it go from 15 to 17 inches normally.

Remember the PVC is pulling gases out of the crankcase to help seal the rings better and cut down on the amount of excess gas pressure that can cause oil seals to leak. The loss of vacuum is not anything to get excited about unless the engine wont run in gear.
