throttle body spacer?
alright, so i'm looking for a new, cheap, quick mod for my 99 3.0 ranger 2wd... what do you know about these throttle body spacers... i've heard reallllly good and reallllly bad things so some input from people who actually know about them would be great. I'm pretty broke right now but i found one for about 85 bucks so i'm considering

Expect nothing from a TB spacer. Literally...nothing. In the carbed days they were great...now they're virtually useless.
Save your money and get a chip...the best bang for the buck, especially combined with an intake and exhaust.
But the TB spacer is a scam these days, similar to the tornado fuel saver, magnets on the fuel line, etc.

I saw this post yesterday, but didn't have the strenght to reply to this question again ha ha. Not true Ranger Pilot, they do something, they create an awesome whistle, sorta like a turbo whine. For only 85 bucks, I would buy 2, so as to allways have a spare ha ha. They add no power to any ranger efi motor, at least that you can tell. The only engine that I could tell a difference on, was a jeep 2.5 I-4, others on the jeep forum say they have some benifit on the jeep 4.0 as well, but these are the exceptions, not the rule. I had one on my ranger 4.0 untill the whistle started buggy me and then pulled off. You will get better results with an under drive pulley at the same price, also a bama programer will help.
