Sudden Vibration at 50mph
Hi,
I have a 2003 Ford F150 SuperCab 4.2L V6 2WD with 70K miles. A few weeks ago I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden the front end started to vibrate so bad I thought I had a front tire blowout. I pulled over and all of the tires were normal. The entire vibration lasted about 10 minutes. When I got back on the road the truck drove normally again. After several weeks the same thing happened again, this time I didn't pull over just continued to drive and again the vibration ceased after about 10 minutes. This happened only 2 times in the span of a couple of months. Yesterday my clutch pedal dropped and I found that the slave cylinder leaked all of the fluid on my driveway. I couldn't engage the clutch and had to have it towed to the shop. Could this all be related or am I looking at multiple problems. Thanks for your help.

Was the vibration also felt in the steering ? Just to be safe I would check the tierod ends inner and outer. Also check the balljoints, wheel bearings etc. . If the fluid got on the clutch disk it could cause some " chatter ", best thing to do is locate the leak and determine if this is the case.

Well I got the truck back and so far so good. I replaced the flywheel, slave cylinder and had a clutch kit installed since the trans would be down.
To answer Whitecougar's question, yes the steering wheel shuck just as bad as the front end.
