When it goes below freezing, my 03 still wants to buck and jerk for about 7 seconds or so. Not as bad as it was before the injector flash, but still does it. the flash took cause i hear them buzzing on shutdown. Could I have some injectors that are 2 far gone? 56,500 miles on motor. EGR unplugged. No tuner since new flash. Still a puff of smoke on startup also. Any ideas?
Try using some conditoner. I recommend diesel kleen at it worked for me after two tanks and all was well. A puff of smoke on startup is fine as all trucks will do this when it is below freezing.
you could also use Fords pm-22 or pm-23.one is a anti gel and the other is a cetain booster.i would have a power balance done on the engine when it is cold.this could help identify the injectors that are still trying to stick when cold.if the reflash help then you might have a inj. or 2 still giving you fits.it also would help your starting if you went ahead and pluged the block heater in.
Well, I do use diesel kleen (grey) and i run rottella 15-40. Im in ft. worth area so it doesnt get real cold, 17 1 night last week other than that maybe mid 20's for a month or 2. Wondering what i can do to convince the dealer to check the injectors? Try to get them to replace them possibly. LOL...
