I have a 2004 X with 6.0 build date of 2004. Last summer Ford replaced 4 injectors (truck out of warranty (milage)) at no charge to me. Took it in last week to get new flash that cycles injectors and was told that my 6.0 does not need this flash. Seems to me that with 4 injectors already "bad" and replaced that this flash would be a good idea - but not according to Ford. Comments?
well it sounds to me that you will have to pay since you are out of warranty, so why would they have a problem? in my opinion all 6.0s need this flash. you might need to find a new dealer. one that actually knows something. lol
I would have them put it on unless a techy here knows a good reason not to. My 2005 loves it. Time wise its 30 minutes work for them and the expense should pay off for you.
I just had mine in for oil and they didn't mention anything about the flash. I thought about asking them to do it but I didn't want to find some huge "diagnostic" bill along with the oil. Do they consider the flash warranty work? Can you go in and ask for it to be done or does it need to have some symptom to warrant it?
