have a list of upgrades that i am thinking of installing on my 2001 f350 crew cab 7.3. so far i have 4 inch turbo back, brian truck shop chip, mac cold air, tugger kit, boost/pyro guages. here is list let me know if upgrades on good, bad for engine life, a must, etc.
1. high pressure oil crossover line(pure diesel power) or HPX line by ITP
2. boost tube
3. dual boost relief valve
4. wicked wheel
5. overboost annihilator
6. turbomaster wastegate mod
7. hpx fuel regulated return
i am looking for more trq/hp cooler temps, etc. thanks.
instead of trying to make the stock turbo work with a WW and wastegate mods and trying to figure out a way to lie to your map sensor, just go buy a turbonetics turbo, i got one for $1200 i have not seen over 18PSI towing in a 50hp setting. since the the boost #'s are lower you wont need a boost regulator, even though i only see 15-18 PSI the truck pulls ALOT harder than the stocker at 25 PSI (surging the whole way, WITH A WW)
where did u get yours from?? did u have to make any other changes to engine, ecu , etc after install?? which turbotranics model do u reccomend and will it hurt 7.3 diesel? thanks.
cheaper route would be the ATS housing and 6.0 Intercooler to cure egts and surge. lookin at about 650.00 bucks, on the other hand i hear really good things
about the turbonetics turbos, though im not yet sold on how less boost makes more power,
doesnt less boost mean less compression, which equals less combustion preassure which = less power.
someone please correct my simple thought process
Boost is just a measurement of restricsion, 18lbs of boost with the TN unit is flowing more efficient then 25lbs with the stock unit. I hope I explained it right.
yes, guess alot of it has to do with how well the intake and exhaust valves flow, and each individual set up is going to flow better or worse, (turbo/exhaust mods)
while watching my boost gauge, i can easly use 22 lbs of boost with no stall or surge, though once i get up over 22, it becomes relevant that its not as efficient.
i bought the ball buster turbo, i dont have a PN or anything but i think that they only make one for our trucks... the difference in back preassure differences between the stock one and the ball buster are so great that i cant really use my manual trans to slow down, the stock unit is like driving aroung with an exhaust brake on! (sort of)
