Hey Guys, Im in a bit of a hurry here. I just installed my new block heater. It was a little smaller than stock and the cord was shorter. Is this ok? Everything threaded in great. I got the whole kit! Please help im still a little cautioious
I pluged my old one in when i got home from school at 4:00 so its usually on all night. The old one was blowing the circuit breaker in my house. I now have to get new plugs for my garage cuz there toast. Rite now its pluged into an outside resept. It didnt blow it eather. Thanks again ive been working on that and the cooling system ever since i got home from school. i got some homework to do. Thanks again
You need to set that thing on a timer. 3-4 hours and it should be where it needs to be. Also just changing out the rec in the garage wont help you much. I bet its only a 15amp circuit. I guess the heater draws more than that
But the old heater was probably blowing the circuit due to an internal short, which is now not in the picture with the new heater and cord. Still, if you plug it into a 15 amp outdoor timer ($19 at Home Depot), you'll get dual protection and won't fry any more recepticles.
