Exclamation ANOTHER to question!

Sorry to bother you again about towing but I need to know as much info on this subject because I won't have a lot of time to get everything set up and get movin to CO when I get back.
As far as flat towing with a tow bar, shouldn't I remove the front driveshaft too? That way I won't have to worry about the trans and t-case bein in nuetral. Also, when I think about hooking up the tow bar, I am thinking that there isn't much/enough space on the frame rail up front to install the mount points for the bar. Let me know if I am wrong or if you had to mod anything for the tow bar. I appreciate any info you got!

I put my mounting brackets on the front bumper, straddling where the bumper bolts to the frame. I used spacers I made out of 1"x1"x1/4" flat bar to clear the round heads of the bumper bolts, but you can probably use washers and be okay. Does your BII have automatic hubs up front? If not, no need to remove the front driveshaft, just leave the hubs unlocked.

Thanks K-P,
I like your set up and will probably go that route. I will also most likely remove the front shaft as well just for my piece of mind. I will be sure to mark/index them so I put them back in the position I took them off. I am also gonna take the advice of topping off the dif's b4 I take off and check them whenever I stop.
I will let everyone know how it went as far as towing my B2. Got to go to school for the Army first b4 I go out west but I want to get everything squared away first.
Thanks again for all the info! It is very much appreciated!

It's been too long since I had the front dshaft out of my BII. As I recall, there is just a slip spline where it comes out of the t-case. Probably should cover that so you don't get road grime in there that will eat up your slip spline when you put it back together.

No problem, army guy. To clarify, I put my mounts in the "notch" in the middle of the bumper -- between top and bottom. Not sure if your bumper is the same, mine is an XLT, but I believe it had a base-model BII or Ranger bumper put on it at one time or another. Also beware that the backing pieces that come with the U-haul tow bar I put up-down lengthwise so the long direction was up-down behind the bumper. It is a very close fit and you may have to shave off 1/8th-1/16th of an inch on the side that is next to the frame rail or use some sort of spacer and -maybe- longer bolts.
