Oil Precharging Engine
I have a 2002, Ford F-250, CC, 4x4, Lariat, 7.3 PSD. No serious mods. I do have a Superchip brand "Gold" chip card inserted into the PCM.
I am considering adding an oil precharging system and would like to know if I could use the oil port just above and toward the front of the OEM oil filter housing and oil cooler line to charge the oil galleys before startup. I have seen pics showing this to be the point, when using a oil bypass system, you tap into for the inlet to the bypass filter.
If this is not a good choice, please recommend one if there is one available.
Continue the great work on this site.
I think out engines are precharged for the injection system. As far as precharging the entire system I would say that it is not needed.
What do you use the truck for? This might aid in helping you.
Anyway, there are a lot of people here that can steer you right.
Enjoy the searching!
Two things come to mind.
1.) GOOD OIL such as Rotella 15w40
2.) grill blockout to help the truck warm up and stay warm.
If I missed anything, someone will chime in trust me.
