1986 ranger 2.9 v-6, i am asking this for a friend. he says turns over, has spark, but no fuel getting to cylinders, fuel pump is working, and there is pressure at the filter, i dont know much about this truck and havent seen it, is it throttle body injected or direct injected into the cylinder? i told him its probably hte injector. any help would be appreciated.
There are 2 fuel pumps > 1 in the tank ( supply pump ) and 1 on the frame ( pressure pump ) even though you are getting pressure at the filter you should still put a pressure guage on the shradder valve on the fuel rail. It won't start if pressure is under 30lb's pressure.
Also crank the engine with the pressure guage on to make sure pumps are still running while cranking the engine
