Hi, welcome to the boards, I would personally upgrade the entire frontend and put a mustangII frontend in it that gives you rack and pinion steering (power if you want it) and disc brakes. John

I put a Magnum front disk brake conversion kit on my '34 Ford P/U, which has the same solid front axle as yours. Went on fine, works great. It uses readily-available late model GM calipers if you need to replace them down the road.
The only problem I had was with squeaks from the pads that came with the kits.
