none starting F 150
HI I have a 2001 ford F150 7700 Auto Trans. 4x4
My son drove it home the other night and the gauge lights were flashing and gauges were wacky ?? I have had the anti theft light flashing on it since I purchased it 1 1/2 years ago. also one other time I turned key off and heater fan continued to run. Any way now the truck will not start It just turns over. It is getting spark it tries to start when spraying starting fluid. runs for a sec and dies. It is getting fuel to the fuel valve but not starting. the anti theft light is now flashing more rapid when key is on. Any ideas on where to start checking? Also is it normal when key is removed for the theft light to continue to flash
Thanks

Yea, theft light will flash regardless. A fast theft light will however signal a theft attempt and it will disable ignition. If possible, get the codes read. It will be a P code for vehicle theft and immobilization if the PATS function is the culprit. Your module may be corrupt or your actual transiever may be bad. Have you ever had any leaky window issues? The fan could be a bad GEM module. They had problems with these getting water on them from leaky windows above the drives door....

OK Finially had to take it to the dealer. The problem was the instrument Cluster.
What was told was that the defroster can heat these thing up and cause them to fail. Said they have replaced many. Should be a recall you would think. Was not cheap to replace 315.00 for cluster and 100.00 Labor not to mention my stress ; )
Thanks for your help
