I not able to find conventional / 5th wheel towing numbers on the Dodge website.
Clearly we can see why we all drive a Ford Super Duty.
Heck, my F-250 5th wheel tow rating is 200 pounds less than what the a 3500 is rated for. Now that gives me the 6.0 grin
Y'all gotta keep in mind also that those are the MAX towing numbers for "properly equipped". You have to take into account the engine, rear-end gears, long bed, short bed, and number of doors. All that has an effect on the tow rating of the truck. For example, with my 2003, crew cab, 5.4L, short bed, the tow capacity is only 7200 lbs. When I up it from a 3.73 rear end to a 4.10, I'm up to 8700 lbs. I have a 4.30 I haven't put in yet, but the tow guides don't give numbers for that. The new 3V 5.4's up the tow rating right off the lot. Obviously the V-10's and diesels with the 4.10's and beyond will up the tow ratings.

Don't know about the Chevy and Dodge numbers, but the Ford numbers were taken from the Ford web site listed above that takes all that you mention into account, i.e. cab size, gears ect...
