Update on the '41
Finally got the front end stuff from Chassis Engineering, got it painted & installed - now we have a rolling frame again.
Steve took the frame this morning to have the exhaust run after spending a week modifying the Mustang "shorty" headers to make them even shorter so they would fit. (It looks special - but as long as it works) Once that's done he's gonna pull the 5.0 and freshen it up.
I haven't done much on the body - still have alot of sandblasting to do. Guess I'd better get moving.

Good to hear from you guys. Seems like your truck is coming along nicely. Did you use the POR to paint the front end parts? Did you go with stainless or aluminized for the exhaust? I put a set of duals on my '50 Ford (aluminized) and then I pulled a sponge dipped in POR HiTemp coating through the pipes so that the pipes would stay nice and bright and no rusting. Found the tip in Street Rod Builder. Taking my '40 apart again to do the prime and paint work before winter sets in. C U AL.
I've used the POR for just about everything regarding the chassis, including using their Metal Mask to hand paint all the nuts, bolts, washers & anything else we wanted to remain natual looking. We used Appliance paint for the front shocks since they came in red and the rears are white. I didn't like the red. I like the look of the black/grey/white.
We went with the "Duel Aluminized" with Flow Masters. Turned out great, the guy that installed them didn't have to bend or cut the frame any to get it to fit. I'll post a picture once I get the film back. Sent the headers off today to have them ceramic coated. Should get em back in about 2 weeks.
Gave the tranny to a friend at a Tranny Shop to check out. Want to make sure everything is 100% - especially since once in, you have to pull the motor and probably the cab & fenders to get it back out.
Steve tore down the motor over the weekend and he & my dad couldn't believe how clean it is. My dad's a diehard chvy guy but was impressed with the Mustang's 5.0 motor. It had over 128,000 miles on it when we got it and from the looks of the car, we know the kid that used to own it had to abuse it. Never seen a Mustang owner that didn't use the power.
Guess I really need to get my -- in gear and get back to the body work.
